Union Street Gallery
About
Union Street Gallery started in 1995 as an incubator project subsidized by the Chicago Southland Economic Development Corporation, and the studio artists formed a collaborative to run the gallery in 1998. When the corporation lost its funding in 2004 the artists kept the organization alive in temporary spaces, filed for nonprofit status and, with help from Chicago Heights officials, secured the current three-story landmark building on Otto Boulevard in 2006. Fifteen artist studios and two floors of gallery space are inside. The 2026 calendar includes the Celebrating Community members’ show through October 3, 2026 and the Rose Benefit the same day.
