Cork + Oak is a newer sit-down spot on Roy Street in Lansing, just off Torrence Avenue, that pairs small plates with wine and whiskey. The room is split in two: Cork, the dining area, is 18 and over, and Oak, the lounge, is 21 and over. The tapas-style menu includes house bread with whipped butter and aleppo honey, a lump crab cake, charbroiled oysters, smoked wings, garlic butter shrimp scampi, fried chicken sliders and lamb lollipops in chimichurri, with entrees such as a smash burger, crab-crusted salmon, braised short rib, steak frites and a market-price featured steak. Reservations are taken online.
