3 Floyds Brewing

3 Floyds Brewing is why many Chicago beer drinkers know Munster. Nick Floyd began brewing in Hammond in 1996 with a five-barrel wok-burner-fired kettle and repurposed Swiss cheese fermenters, and the brewery later moved to 9750 Indiana Parkway in Munster, an industrial park off Calumet Avenue. Alpha King pale ale was the first beer, and Zombie Dust, the Citra pale ale from 2010, is the one that sells out. Dark Lord Day has released the Dark Lord imperial stout every year since 2004, and 3 Floyds Distilling added whiskey, gin, rum and aquavit in 2019. The brewpub is currently closed; a retail kiosk sells to go.
