The Wilmette Theatre

The Wilmette Theatre has been showing movies on Central Avenue since 1913, and today the building is run as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that pays for itself with tickets, grants and donations. The schedule mixes new releases with older titles, and the theater keeps trailers to five to eight minutes before each film. Weeknights bring live comedy, storytelling and band nights; a local comedy show called Leave It to Geezer sold out the house in January 2026. The theater also rents out for private parties and film premieres, and the whole thing sits a block from the Wilmette Metra stop.
