Maevery Public House

Maevery Public House holds down the corner of Scranton Avenue in downtown Lake Bluff, a block from the Metra station and across from the village green. Operating partner and owner Greg Derman describes the food as American classics, and the kitchen makes everything in house: shrimp and grits, fried chicken, pulled pork sliders and venison carpaccio show up on the menu and in the restaurant’s own photo gallery. The bar pours cocktails such as the Smokin’ Sombrero and a Derby Day mint julep, keeps four wines on tap from a mostly American list, and stocks local craft beer.
