FitzGerald’s

FitzGerald’s is the live music club at 6615 W Roosevelt Rd in Berwyn. The frame building went up in the early 1900s as a roadhouse and hunting lodge, then became the Hunt Club, where Turk Murphy and Lil Armstrong played through the 1950s and early 1960s. The FitzGerald family bought the place in 1980 and ran the club for four decades before selling to Will Duncan of Thalia Hall on March 5, 2020, without closing for a single day. The club still books roots, blues, jazz and country acts most nights, and the corner building holds Sidebar, a neighborhood cocktail lounge.
