Marcel’s Culinary Experience

Marcel’s Culinary Experience opened in September 2011 in a 3,200-square-foot storefront on North Main Street in Glen Ellyn. Founder Jill Foucré left a 30-year career in health insurance to open the store and named the business for her grandfather, a French chef and restaurateur. The front of the store is a cookware and tabletop shop with brands from Le Creuset to Nordic Ware; the back is a teaching kitchen that runs hands-on classes, chef demonstrations, small-plates classes, workshops and kids’ classes. In November 2014 the International Housewares Association and The Gourmet Retailer named the store their Kitchenware Retailer of the Year.
