Babcock’s Grove House opened in 2016 in a historic building at 101 West St. Charles Road in downtown Lombard, and the family that owns the restaurant marked ten years in 2026. Everything on the menu is made from scratch daily, mostly from local and seasonal ingredients, and the owners are blunt about what the restaurant does not have: freezers (except for ice cream), microwaves, reservations, TVs or wifi. A pie of the day is baked each morning on the baker’s whim and sold by the slice after 4 p.m. while slices last. Craft cocktails are next door at the Lilac League, the owners’ bar.
