Arcada Theatre

The Arcada Theatre has anchored Main Street in St. Charles since 1926, when cartoonist and local millionaire Lester J. Norris spent $500,000 to build a vaudeville and picture house. George Burns, Edgar Bergen, Vincent Price and the John Philip Sousa Band all played the room. Ron Onesti’s Onesti Entertainment took over in May 2005 and turned the theater into a concert hall for classic rock, country, tribute bands and comedians, with a 2021 renovation that brought the house to about 900 seats. The original Marr and Colton pipe organ still rises from under the stage, and Club Arcada, a speakeasy-style restaurant and bar, fills the third floor.
