About
The Joliet Slammers are Joliet’s own pro baseball team, a Frontier League club that plays at Duly Health and Care Field, the downtown ballpark at 1 Mayor Art Schultz Drive. The Frontier League is an MLB partner league, and the season runs from May through early September with a promotion schedule of fireworks and theme nights. Ownership includes Mike Veeck, Night Train Veeck and Bill Murray. The team made national news in December 2025 by announcing an April 30, 2026 exhibition game inside the Old Joliet Prison, and the ballpark is a short walk from the Metra station.
