Maple & Ash is the Gold Coast’s loudest and most decorated steakhouse, at 8 W Maple St just off Rush Street and a block from the Clark/Division Red Line. Everything comes off a wood-burning hearth, from the fire-roasted seafood tower (Maine lobster, king crab, Gulf shrimp, clams, oysters and scallops in garlic butter and chili oil) to a 40-ounce dry-aged tomahawk,. Dinner runs 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The dress code bars athletic wear, baseball caps and athletic sneakers, and a 3.5 percent staff benefits charge is added to every bill.
