Runaway Cow is a vegan ice cream shop on West 31st Street in Bridgeport, opened in 2024 by neighborhood residents Alison Eichhorn and Aaron Gutierrez after a Kickstarter campaign. Block Club Chicago reported at opening that the shop uses oat milk soft serve and vegan candy for its milkshakes and snowstorms. The menu also covers sundaes, banana splits, floats, ice cream sandwiches and cakes. The owners have said they wanted a South Side shop where vegan treats feel normal, not niche.
