About
Metro is a concert hall at 3730 N. Clark St. in Wrigleyville. Joe Shanahan opened the venue in 1982 in a 1927 building that once housed a Swedish community center. The main room holds about 1,100, and Smart Bar, a roughly 400-person dance club, is downstairs. Metro has a long record of booking bands before they break big, and the calendar runs across punk, indie, electronic and alternative music.
