Theater Wit

Theater Wit took over the former Theatre Building Chicago on W Belmont Avenue in 2010 and turned it into a three-stage home for its own productions and for a rotating group of Chicago companies that rent the other rooms. On a busy weekend three unrelated plays can run at once, with a shared lobby and bar. The house production in fall 2026 is Adolescent Salvation, a Chicago premiere. Theater Wit sells a $35-a-month membership good for dozens of productions a year across the building. The Belmont Red, Brown and Purple Line station is three blocks west, and a $10 lot sits through the alley across the street.
