The Actors Gymnasium

The Actors Gymnasium is a circus and physical theater school in Evanston’s Noyes Cultural Arts Center, next to the Noyes Purple Line stop. Its summer camps are for kids entering fourth through ninth grade, and each day mixes warm-ups with training in circus, drama and movement: juggling, tumbling, trapeze, tightwire and stilts. No experience is needed. Artistic director Sylvia Hernandez-DiStasi is a second-generation circus performer whose family, the Hernandez Troupe, was inducted into the Circus Ring of Fame in 2019.
