Small Cheval is the counter-service burger spinoff of Au Cheval, with a Wicker Park shop at 1732 N Milwaukee Ave, a short walk from the Damen Blue Line stop. The menu is short: a double cheeseburger dressed house style with dijonnaise, onions and pickles, a fried chicken sandwich, fries, soft serve and milkshakes, including boozy versions, with draft beer alongside. Small Cheval is the quicker, cheaper way to eat the burger that made the original famous, and the Wicker Park room is one of several around the city and in Rosemont.
