Gino’s East

Gino’s East is a deep dish pizzeria at 162 E Superior St in Streeterville, off the Magnificent Mile, the flagship of a business taxi drivers Sam Levine and Fred Bartoli started in 1966. The cornmeal-crust pie is still made from the dough recipe Alice Mae Redmond developed for the founders. The restaurant spreads across three floors with graffiti-covered walls that customers are invited to add to, a comedy bar and a third-floor terrace. The Red Line’s Chicago stop is a few blocks west.
