Hecho en Oak Park is a Mexican taqueria and cantina at 1053 Lake St at the west end of downtown Oak Park, a short walk from the Harlem/Lake Green Line and Metra stops. Every taco sits on a tortilla pressed in the kitchen, with classic meat fillings and three vegetarian options: hibiscus flower, poblano and nopales. The restaurant does breakfast as well as lunch and dinner, pours margaritas and sells party packages. Furniture is secondhand, menus are QR codes and to-go containers are compostable.
