French Restaurant

Obelix

About

Obelix is a contemporary French restaurant at the corner of Sedgwick and Huron streets in River North, opened in 2022 by brothers Oliver and Nicolas Poilevey, whose parents founded Le Bouchon in Bucktown. The menu takes liberties with French classics, from French onion soup and escargot to a foie gras taco, beef Wellington and aged duck breast. The pastry program carries equal weight, with mille-feuille and a rotating soufflé.

What to know

  • Obelix took over the space that previously held Entente.
  • Reservations open 30 days in advance on OpenTable.
  • Pastries can be ordered to go through Tock.
  • The restaurant books private events and large parties through an inquiry form on its website.
  • The Chicago stop on the CTA Brown and Purple lines is about two blocks away.
