The Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio is a house museum in Oak Park on Chicago Avenue, the architect’s home and workplace from 1889 to 1909, run by the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust. Visitors see the house and drafting studio on guided or self-guided tours of 60 to 90 minutes, and the Trust also sells a walking tour of the Wright-designed houses in the surrounding blocks. The Oak Park Green Line and Metra stops are a 15- to 20-minute walk south.
What to know
- Tours are priced from $24 to $38 and leave daily between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- The Trust does not recommend interior tours for children under 8, and strollers cannot go inside.
- A museum shop is on the property.
- The Trust closes all of its sites on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Day and January 2.
