The Meadowlark

The Meadowlark is a 30-seat cocktail bar behind an unmarked door near California Avenue and Palmer Street in Logan Square, from Steve Lewis and Chris Thompson, the team behind Lardon and Union, which share the same century-old building. The room is done up like a mid-1800s home library, with exposed brick, leather chesterfield couches and worn books, and the menu is a rotating themed list that started with 16 bird-named cocktails. Small bites are served.

• The bar opened October 3, 2022, in an 825-square-foot space.
• Fourteen of the 30 seats are at the bar and are walk-in only; the lounge takes Resy reservations for groups of four to six.
• The 2026 North America’s 50 Best Bars extended list ranked the bar 65th.
• Beverage director Abe Vucekovich wrote the opening menu.
