Alice’s Lounge

About

Alice’s Lounge is a late-night karaoke bar at 3556 W Belmont Ave in Avondale, at Central Park Avenue. Alice Boron opened the lounge in 1986, and her family ran the bar until October 2022, when Jeremy Schnitker and Zachary Fox bought the place with a local bar group, WhatNow Chicago reported. Karaoke runs seven nights a week, and Time Out Chicago listed Alice’s first in a December 2025 roundup of the city’s karaoke bars.

What to know

  • The new owners planned to keep the wood paneling and the original staff, WhatNow Chicago reported in 2022.
  • The Infatuation noted that a pool table was removed and the lights were dimmed to suit karaoke.
  • Alice’s closed at the start of the pandemic and reopened in fall 2021, according to WhatNow Chicago.
  • Busy nights can mean one song per singer, Time Out Chicago warns.
  • Updates are posted on the bar’s Instagram account rather than a website.
