Asador Bastian is chef Doug Psaltis’s Basque-style steakhouse at 214 W Erie St in River North, set in a 19th-century townhouse a two-block walk from the Chicago Brown Line stop. Steaks are cooked over live fire and priced by the pound, with several breeds and ages on the list, so the beef alone for a table can run $70 or more before sides. Seafood comes from the markets of Barcelona. The dining room is reservation-only and bookable 30 days in advance; the bar room opens daily at 4 p.m. and welcomes walk-ins for the full menu and a drink.
