Bengtson’s Pumpkin Farm in Homer Glen has run a fall festival and pumpkin patch since 1981. The Fall Fest is closer to an amusement day than a quiet farm visit: 14 themed mechanical rides, pig races, live music, a haunted barn, hayrides, playgrounds and a petting zoo, with rides included in admission. Pricing changes through the season, with weekdays the cheapest and October weekends the most expensive. Parking is free on site, which makes the farm an easy choice for South Side and southwest suburban families with young kids.
