The Chicago Chinatown Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1983 as a nonprofit to expand business opportunities in Chinatown and to teach others about the history and culture of the Chinese American community. The office is at 2169B S. China Place. The chamber runs the Chinatown visitor center, administers Special Service Area #73, helps with neighborhood parking information and small business programs, and organizes signature events including a Lunar New Year dinner, a dragon boat race, a boat cruise and the Miss Chinatown Chicago pageant.
