CIBC Theatre

About

CIBC Theatre opened on New Year’s Day 1906 as the Majestic Theatre, a vaudeville house that Broadway In Chicago says was the first Chicago venue to cost more than a million dollars. After years as the Sam Shubert Theatre and a 2006 restoration, the house took its current name in 2015 and held the Chicago run of Hamilton for three and a half years. Broadway In Chicago books touring musicals and plays here, including Operation Mincemeat and Jersey Boys in fall 2026. Rush tickets are sold at the box office on performance day for participating shows, and a monthly ’30 on the 30th’ sale offers $30 seats.
