County Line Orchard in Hobart, Indiana, is the closest large orchard for South Side and Southland families. The Big Barn sells apples, baked goods and gifts, and there is a sweet shop, a brat barn and a kitchen restaurant on site. Outdoor attractions include a U-pick pumpkin patch with a pumpkin house, sunflower picking, a corn maze, the Moo Choo barrel train and a kids farm with goats and pigs. This year the orchard reports a limited U-pick apple crop after spring frosts and summer storms, with picked apples sold in the barn.
