About
Court Theatre has produced classic plays reworked for modern audiences on the University of Chicago campus for more than 60 years, and in 2022 it received the Regional Theatre Tony Award. The building on S Ellis Avenue in Hyde Park has a single intimate stage; the 2026-27 season includes Joe Turner’s Come and Gone and Mojada. Unlike almost every other theater in the city, Court has free parking: a covered garage at 55th and Ellis and a small lot at the entrance that is free after 4 p.m. and on weekends. University of Chicago students, faculty and staff, military families and groups get discounts.
