Dancen

Dancen is a small Korean bar at 5114 N. Lincoln Ave. in Lincoln Square, known for food cooked on an open grill behind the bar. Fire chicken, marinated in chili and gochujang and charred over the flame, is the signature, served with a cabbage slaw in Thousand Island dressing to cool the heat. The menu also runs to seafood pancakes, stews and spicy rice cakes.

• The signature plate costs $23, or $26 with melted cheese, on the current menu.
• The Infatuation gave Dancen an 8.2 and includes the bar in the outlet’s August 2026 Lincoln Square guide.
• WBEZ reported in January 2024 that the bar does not take reservations.
• Korean lager comes by the liter bottle, and makgeolli (rice wine) is on the drink list.
