About
Evanston Art Center is a nonprofit art school and gallery at 1717 Central St in Evanston. Adult departments cover ceramics, drawing and painting, figure sculpture, jewelry, printmaking, digital media and woodworking, and there are fall classes and workshops for kids and teens. The wood shop has a jointer, thickness planer, mortiser, SawStop table saw and four midi lathes, and classes let students build their own projects. Galleries are free and open to the public, and financial aid and payment plans are available.

- Fall 2026 Basic Woodworking for Adults is 12 weeks for $630, or $610 for members.
- Woodworking students buy their own wood and hardware.
- Membership is no longer required for adult classes, except the independent study program, which needs a $75 membership.
- Metra’s Union Pacific North line stops on Central Street.
