About
Exile in Bookville is an independent bookstore in Studio 210 of the Fine Arts Building at 410 S. Michigan Ave., across from Grant Park in the Loop. The name comes from Liz Phair’s 1993 album, and the shop pairs books with vinyl records and a running playlist. Booksellers, authors and musicians contribute recommendations, and the store hosts readings, author conversations and book clubs in the shop and online. The Fine Arts Building’s old elevators and music studios are part of the experience. Metra Electric’s Van Buren Street station is across Michigan Avenue.
