Gene’s Sausage Shop & Delicatessen is a Lincoln Square food store at 4750 N. Lincoln Ave. with a full delicatessen, butcher counter, bakery, produce and imported European groceries. The shop makes more than 40 kinds of wood-smoked sausage. Upstairs is a European-style rooftop beer and wine garden with communal wooden tables, planters of herbs and tomatoes, and a skylight bar. The rooftop menu includes bratwurst plates, schnitzel, cabbage rolls and pierogi cooked alongside sausages on an open wood grill.
