Glen Art Theatre

The Glen Art Theatre has shown movies on Crescent Boulevard in downtown Glen Ellyn since the building opened as the Glen Theatre in February 1927. Architect William B. Betts of Park Ridge designed the Tudor Revival three-story building and the storefronts on either side, and the single auditorium was split into four screens between 1984 and 1989, according to Cinema Treasures. Today the theater programs a mix of first-run Hollywood releases, art films and classics. Seats are reserved at two lobby kiosks, and beer and wine are sold at the concession stand. The theater sits a half block from the Glen Ellyn Metra station.
