Horse Thief Hollow Brewing Co. has brewed on Western Avenue since 2013 and is the South Side’s most decorated brewery by medal count, with gold at the 2023 World Beer Cup and the 2023 Great American Beer Festival for Little Wing pilsner and a 2025 U.S. Open gold for the Belgian tripel Wrenly Rose. The taproom sits between 104th and 105th, a few blocks from the 103rd Street Metra stop, and the kitchen smokes chicken, ribs and pulled pork for a Southern-style menu with weekend brunch. The name refers to the old nickname for the ravine that once ran through the neighborhood.
