iO Theater

About

iO Theater, founded in 1981 as ImprovOlympic, is the home of long-form improv in Chicago and trained generations of comedians before they moved on to television.m. on show nights. Shows run six nights a week, with the theater dark on Tuesdays, and the venue is all ages. There is no on-site parking, only metered street spots and a few pay lots within a block, and the North/Clybourn Red Line stop is about five minutes away on foot. iO also hosts an annual iO Fest.
