Kehrein Center for the Arts

The Kehrein Center for the Arts is the restored mid-century auditorium at 5628 W. Washington Blvd., on the campus of Catalyst Circle Rock charter school in Austin. The hall, once part of Siena High School, sat dark for close to 50 years until a $5 million campaign brought the 850-seat theater back in 2019; the name honors Glen Kehrein, the West Side community developer who pushed for the restoration. The stage hosts opera, ballet, orchestral concerts and plays, and the El Sistema Ravinia orchestra of students from five West Side elementary schools is based here. Old Town School’s free Africa Out West concert returns on October 1, 2026.
