Lincoln Park Zoo

Lincoln Park Zoo is a free zoo inside Lincoln Park at 2400 N Cannon Dr, between Fullerton Parkway and North Avenue, with the Nature Boardwalk around the South Pond at the south end. The 49-acre grounds hold more than 170 animal species across the Regenstein African Journey, the Pritzker Family Children’s Zoo, the Farm-in-the-Zoo and the rest of the campus, plus dining at The Patio at Café Brauer on the boardwalk and the year-round Park Place Café. The 151 and 156 buses stop at the gates.

What to know

• The on-site lot costs $35 to $45 a day, with the first 30 minutes free.
• Members, donors and visitors cover 85 percent of operating costs, with the Chicago Park District providing the rest, per the zoo.
• Café Brauer’s boardwalk patio is seasonal.
• Free street parking on Cannon and Stockton fills by late morning on warm weekends.
