About
Monday Coffee started in October 2020 when South Siders Amanda Christine Harth and Felton Kizer began selling coffee wherever people were, then landed the concessions contract at the Garfield Park Conservatory from November 2021 to spring 2023. The permanent cafe opened in early November 2024 at 3243 W. 16th St., inside the Starling Community Center, a former laundromat that also holds a free library. The shop sells house roasts and two-ounce cold brew minis steeped for 18 hours, and the calendar fills with a Sunday run club that loops 2.5 miles through Douglass Park, film-and-vinyl nights and exhibit openings with the Lawndale Pop-Up Shop.
