Mood Fabrics

Mood Fabrics is a fabric and sewing-supply showroom at 109 S. State St. in the Loop, on the same block as the Palmer House and a short walk from the School of the Art Institute and Columbia College. The store is the Chicago location of the New York retailer known from the TV show Project Runway.

The 2,000-square-foot showroom carries samples of more than 8,000 fabrics, trims and buttons plus hundreds of notions. Shoppers handle the swatches in person, then order yardage online for home delivery or free in-store pickup, and the store runs sewing classes, open sewing nights and textile workshops for beginners through working designers.
