Myopic Books at 1564 N. Milwaukee Ave. is Wicker Park’s used bookstore, spread over three floors near the Milwaukee, North and Damen intersection. The inventory runs to tens of thousands of titles, with long runs of philosophy, fiction, poetry, art and history, and much of it comes from customers selling books at the counter. Aisles are narrow and the layout rewards slow browsing. The Damen Blue Line stop is a few doors away, and the shop is busiest on weekend evenings when the neighborhood’s bars and restaurants fill up.
