About
Narrow Bridge Arts Club is a members-run makerspace and arts club in a former synagogue at 6028 S. Champlain Ave., near Washington Park. Artist and educator Amber Ginsburg bought the building in 2020, and the renovation added geothermal wells, solar panels and rainwater collection. Members use a woodshop, a fiber arts studio, a mark-making studio, a shared kitchen and three gardens, and many cowork there between projects. Most skill sharing happens through member-led workshops rather than formal classes.

- New members join by attending a potluck, dessert-luck or tea time on the club calendar.
- Some tools, including all electric tools, require training before use.
- Upcycled wood is free; plywood and 2x4s are sold on site.
- South Side Weekly named the club Best Sacred Arts Space in September 2026.
