Obama Presidential Center

Obama Presidential Center is the Obama Foundation’s museum and campus at 6001 S Stony Island Ave, on the western edge of Jackson Park at 60th Street, on the border of Woodlawn and Hyde Park. The 19.3-acre campus opened in 2026 and includes a four-level museum, the Forum building with an auditorium and program rooms, a Chicago Public Library branch, the Home Court NBA-regulation basketball gym, the Sky Room observation area, dining, a shop and grounds with a Great Lawn and outdoor art. The 10 bus stops at the center.

What to know

• Museum entry is by timed ticket, and new dates are released on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. Central.
• The grounds are free and open to the public without a ticket, as are the library branch and the Forum.
• Paid parking is available on site, and the same bus line continues to the science museum up the road.
