Pilsen Community Books

Pilsen Community Books is a worker-owned cooperative bookstore at 1531 W. 18th St. in Pilsen. The staff bought the store in 2020 and moved a few blocks to a larger storefront in February 2026, adding room for more inventory, a bigger Spanish-language section and an event space for 80 to 100 people. The shelves mix new releases with used and rare books at a range of prices. The store sits on the 18th Street corridor of murals, taquerias and galleries, a short walk from the Pink Line.
