Pumping Station: One is a volunteer-run hackerspace at 3519 N Elston Ave in Avondale. Founded in 2009 in a coffee shop, the group now has about 11,000 square feet of workshop space that members can use 24 hours a day. There are no formal classes in the usual sense; members get authorized on tools and learn from each other, and clubs meet regularly for electronics, programming, beer brewing and power racing. Anyone curious can attend the in-person open house before joining.
