Qing Xiang Yuan Dumplings

Qing Xiang Yuan Dumplings, known by the initials QXY on the sign, is a Northern Chinese dumpling restaurant on the second floor of the Richland Center building at Wentworth and Archer in Chinatown. The business began in 2014 as a food-court stall downstairs and moved into a standalone room the next year. Handmade dumplings come boiled, steamed or pan-fried with fillings that run from pork and sour cabbage to lamb, wagyu beef and crab roe, alongside cold appetizers and Chinese teas. The Cermak-Chinatown Red Line stop is a short walk.

What to know

• Most dumpling orders land between $10 and $13, with seafood versions up to about $30.
• Frozen dumplings are sold to take home.
• Seating is walk-in only, and the restaurant is BYOB.
• Block Club Chicago reported in March 2026 that a second location was about to open at 2018 W Division St in Wicker Park.
• Arriving before noon or after 8 p.m. avoids the longest waits.
