Ragadan

Ragadan is a counter-service falafel shop at 4409 N. Broadway, near Montrose Avenue in Uptown, a short walk from the Wilson Red Line stop. The shop calls itself an American falafel shoppe and cooks Jordanian street food from Amman, seasoned with parsley, lemon, garlic, coriander, cumin and sumac, alongside smash burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches and handmade desserts such as apple baklava. The Infatuation put most items around $8.

• Owner Danny Sweis, whose parents immigrated to the Midwest from Amman, runs the shop with his wife Maria.
• Sweis spent 20 years running kitchens around Chicago before opening his own place.
