Tacotlán

Tacotlán is a family-owned birria restaurant on West Fullerton Avenue in Hermosa on the Northwest Side, co-owned by Jessica Perjes and Everardo Macías. The Infatuation credited the couple in a 2021 review as among the first in Chicago to sell quesabirria, and the taco is still the reference point for the style on this side of town: griddled crisp in birria fat with chihuahua cheese, served with a rich consomé for dipping. The birria menu sprawls from there into birria ramen, a birria pizza the shop calls a bizza, and Mexican comfort dishes.
