The Drake Oak Brook

The Drake Oak Brook opened in 1961 on York Road as a suburban sibling of the Drake on Michigan Avenue and anchored Oak Brook society for decades under catering manager Gino DiRenzo. The hotel closed after a Ponzi scheme collapse, sat dormant, and was bought in 2013 by Jim and Tely Nagle of Elmhurst, who did much of the renovation work themselves before reopening in 2015. The Nagles still own the hotel, which carries the Autograph Collection flag. Afternoon tea, Sunday champagne brunch and the Colonial Room draw non-guests, and the 10-acre Drake Gardens received ArbNet Level I arboretum accreditation in 2026.
