The Loyalist is chef John Shields’ New American restaurant on the garden level of 177 N Ada St, Suite 101, in the West Loop, beneath the three-Michelin-star Smyth. The menu leans toward French bistro cooking, and the OG Cheeseburger with frites is the dish the room is known for; Time Out Chicago reported in June 2026 that the 2026 World’s 101 Best Burgers list ranked the burger 22nd worldwide, the highest of four Chicago entries. A seasonal patio runs along Ada Street.
