The Marshall Field’s Walnut Room marked its 119th anniversary in September 2026, and for many Chicago families a holiday lunch under its Great Tree is an annual habit. The tree is lit from November 7, 2026 through January 10, 2027. The room is paneled in Circassian walnut and hung with Austrian crystal chandeliers, and the dish to order is Mrs. Hering’s chicken pot pie, served in an individual crock with a side of Walnut Room salad. Holiday reservations open online October 1 and fill quickly.
